While some cosplayers buy their costumes, the most dedicated fans will put in sweat, tears, and inordinate amounts of money to create their own from scratch in the perfect fabrics! Then they take all kinds of photographs and post them on the internet to share with everyone!

It's especially popular among women, who frequently "crossplay" as male characters who are too pretty for most men to pull off!

I do it myself on occasion, but I wouldn't consider it a real hobby of mine. I prefer looking at the pictures others post.
