[That is. Definitely a mood.

Tuuri will see him there, and she'll go right over to him.

Want to rest some more?

It doesn't, no. But if you want, you don't have to watch.

Well, what do you think will happen if you watch?

What do you think will happen though?

I mean, what do you think will happen if you watch it, versus not watching it?

...are you worried about ending up there?

[personal profile] polyglotti 2023-02-20 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
It doesn't, no. But speaking from personal experience, if you spend all your time worrying about what could happen, then you won't get to do the things you actually want to do.

Ah. Well...

[...]

Let's go do something else then, okay? So you have something else to think about, at least for a little while.

I could tell you another story, if you want. Maybe a happy one?

[To make up for the lack of happy today.]

Let's go find a place to sit then, and I'll tell you a nice story.

[To the common room! They can sit on the couch while she tells a story.]

I think I know just the right one for today too: the story of the first time my brother Onni sheared a sheep.

Twelve or thirteen, somewhere around there. That's about the age when kids start working real jobs where I'm from. But Onni, he gets scared of stuff easily, especially if it's stuff he doesn't know well. So he tried his best to be brave about it, but you could tell he was nervous about messing up. Shearing a sheep isn't easy, it's a live animal after all!

So our parents got him one of the younger sheep, figuring he could manage a small one on his own. But when he got close with the shears, the sheep ran right at him!
